What is the timeline for you to create a custom gown?
Plan for your gown to take about 6 to 8 months from your initial consultation until the final creation. Simpler design styles could take less time but we recommend booking as soon as possible to secure your date, as wedding season fills up quickly.
How much should I budget for a custom wedding gown?
Custom-made wedding gowns range from CAD $3000 to $8,000. Fabric, consultations, and fittings are included in the price. However, depending on the materials and intricacy of the style, there may be additional costs. The best way to get an accurate number is to contact us for a quote.
What kind of fabrics do you use to create your dresses?
We will look at swatches and existing samples together to select the perfect fabrics for your custom dress. Our bespoke gowns are created with exquisite materials that are carefully curated and sourced locally, as well as overseas from Europe, Australia, and Asia. We use 100 percent silk and silk blends to ensure the highest quality for your couture-level gown.
What can I expect at my consultations? What is the process?
For your first visit, please bring some inspiration photos so we can get a better idea of what you are envisioning for your big day. Please note that we will not replicate other designers’ work and inspiration photos are merely for us to get a better idea of your personal style. We are very proud of our unique designs, and we hope that you’ve approached us because you love our aesthetic. We also have samples of our exquisite gowns in our studio so you can get a better feel for our workmanship and style.
After the initial consult, we will put together a package which will include a sketch of your gown and a selection of fabric options that will best complement your dress style. Your body measurements will be taken once we’ve finalized the design.
Fittings start four to six months before your wedding, and the entire process typically requires three to five fitting sessions, depending on the gown’s complexity.
For your first fitting session, we will make a test dress out of muslin (an unbleached cotton fabric) to model the perfect fit for your body. To make sure your dress fits you flawlessly, a second test dress may need to be created before we cut the final dress in your chosen fabric.
We can discuss any accessories you would like to pair with your dress during the fitting process. Bring your shoes on the final session to get your dress hemmed to the perfect length.
Am I able to get a custom dress made if I don’t live in Vancouver?
Absolutely! We can set up all appointments virtually and will be able to assist you on how to take down your measurements correctly. Alternatively, you can get your measurements taken by a reputable tailor. Please contact us for further details.
Can you explain your payment process?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon initial invoice to book you into our calendar, and the balance is due once your dress is complete. We accept e-transfer or credit card payments.
